
When I was diagnosed with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyalitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) 6 years ago, my world stopped. Literally. I could do nothing. Although initially I was gutted at losing my career, my life as I knew it; as I learned to step into 'being' rather than 'doing', I found peace. Then, as I came to terms with this new way of being, I started to look at what had brought me to that place of absolute collapse. I realised that it was a long, complicated tangle of life events, thoughts, feelings and subsequent behaviours and I embarked on my journey of 'All things Wellbeing' in order to unpick it all.
I discovered TC by accident. One day, in bed, in a particularly lonely and miserable period, I came across an ad for 'The Joy Movement'. It was colourful and dynamic and everything I wasn't feeling, so I joined and took part in an online event. The deeply authentic connections and shared vulnerability was mind blowing. Watching others have light bulb moments, that led to massive breakthroughs around their limiting beliefs and values inspired me so much, I loved the sense of possibility and potential, the celebration of life, and I knew I had to sign up for coaching training and share this with others.
I believe that lasting wellbeing is attained via a holistic approach that encompasses the mind, body, and soul and that we all deserve to live the richest, fullest life we can in this miraculous, short time we have whilst on planet Earth. We humans are complex and messy and incredible, so it makes sense that we need integrative resources to help us achieve this. The combination of TC and Somatic coaching is like therapy on steroids!

One of the final pieces of the healing puzzle for me was discovering somatic techniques. Basically, this is about connecting with the body, which sounds easy, but for many including me, it isn't. When we intentionally connect with the body, we use our senses, quietening the mind and this is when we have clear communication, helping us to access the wisdom of our body and to truly experience our emotions, feeling them and moving through them creating lasting resilience; one of the pillars of wellbeing.
